How We Work

One accountable team around the agreed work.

Cassowary Group works alongside your people, takes responsibility for the work agreed with us, and keeps your operation moving. You keep the decisions that belong with you. We carry the work that belongs with us.

Four kinds of authority. Each stays where it belongs.

Before describing how we work, it is worth being clear about what Cassowary Group does and does not control.

Client authority

You own your business. You make the decisions that belong to your business — commercial direction, investment, strategy, what you build and what you do not. Cassowary Group works within the scope you agree with us. We do not take over your business.

Cassowary's agreed responsibility

Within the scope agreed with us, Cassowary Group takes clear responsibility. We coordinate the suppliers, people, equipment and work required to deliver what we have agreed. We are accountable for that scope.

Specialist professional authority

Engineers, doctors, lawyers, accountants and other licensed professionals hold authority over their own professional work. Cassowary Group works with these specialists — we do not override their professional judgement or take responsibility for work that belongs to them.

Legal and statutory authority

Regulators, government bodies and statutory authorities hold authority over compliance, safety, environmental and legal requirements. Cassowary Group operates within these requirements. We do not replace them.

The framework

Ten steps from requirement to operation.

01

Understand the requirement.

We start with what needs to happen — not with a standard service offering. What is the operational outcome? What is currently working and what is not? What does the client need to remain in control of? What is the agreed scope for Cassowary Group?

02

Assess what is already in place.

For existing operations, we look at what is already working before deciding what needs to change. Existing suppliers, contractors and staff who are performing well stay in place. We work with them, not around them.

03

Identify what is missing or disconnected.

We identify the gaps — missing supply, fragmented responsibility, unclear authority, poor information flow, absent capability. These are the things we address. We do not pull apart what already works.

04

Define the agreed scope.

We agree with the client exactly what Cassowary Group is responsible for and what remains with the client. This boundary is explicit. The client's authority over their own business is not part of our scope.

05

Establish the operating system.

We identify what must work around the asset or project — supply, equipment, infrastructure, workforce, maintenance, technology, commercial arrangements, governance, reporting and operational oversight — within the agreed scope.

06

Select the delivery structure.

We determine the appropriate role for Cassowary Group and specialist partners. Depending on the requirement, Cassowary Group may develop, own, invest, procure, build, manage, operate or integrate specialist partners within the agreed scope.

07

Mobilise and deliver.

We mobilise procurement, development, construction, manufacturing, transport, workforce, technology, systems and operational oversight required to deliver the agreed scope.

08

Establish clear responsibility.

Within the agreed scope, we establish defined authority, decision rights, reporting lines, escalation pathways and communications structures. This does not replace statutory, professional, technical or client authority held by other parties.

09

Operate, maintain and improve.

Where required, we establish the workforce, supply arrangements, asset management, maintenance systems, data visibility, decision-making structure and ongoing oversight needed to sustain performance within the agreed scope.

10

Report and stay accountable.

We report to the client on the agreed scope. The client retains visibility over what Cassowary Group is doing and the results being achieved. Accountability runs both ways.

Existing operations and new developments.

Cassowary Group works with both existing operations and new developments. Neither pathway is secondary.

Existing Operation

For existing operations, the work may involve identifying constraints, restructuring responsibility within the agreed scope, strengthening supply, improving asset availability, coordinating fragmented contractors or rebuilding the operating system around the required outcome.

Structure follows the requirement.

Cassowary Group does not force each project into a standard service model. Its involvement is determined by what the project or operation requires, the responsibility agreed with the client and the specialist partners required to deliver it.

One accountable team within the agreed scope.

Cassowary Group creates clarity across its contracted scope by defining roles, responsibility, authority, decision rights, interfaces, reporting, escalation and information flow. This does not replace statutory, professional, technical or client authority held by relevant parties. It establishes clear accountability within the agreed scope.

Different requirements need different structures.

Cassowary Group's role is determined by the project, commercial structure and level of responsibility required. These roles may be used separately or in combination, subject to project requirements, commercial assessment and agreed scope.
