Workforce & Operations — Cassowary Group

← Capabilities

Workforce is part of the operating model, not labour hire.

Workforce & Operations

Cassowary Group's workforce capability is built around delivering and operating projects and operations for which it holds responsibility. It is not presented as disconnected labour hire to fill vacancies. The workforce is established around the operational requirement — with the right roles, responsibilities, training, supervision and support systems in place.

The operational requirement

An operation requires people with the right skills, in the right roles, with clear responsibilities, appropriate supervision and the support systems required to perform safely and effectively. Workforce planning that is disconnected from the operational requirement creates risk, cost and performance problems.

Connected capability

Workforce & Operations connects with Operational Control (supervision and authority structures), Maintenance & Asset Management (maintenance workforce), Systems & Technology (workforce systems), Infrastructure (workforce facilities) and all capabilities that require people to operate.

Delivery structures

Depending on the requirement, Cassowary Group may design the organisational structure, recruit and mobilise the workforce, establish employment arrangements, manage ongoing workforce operations, or integrate workforce capability within a wider operating structure.

Cassowary Group works with appropriate specialist providers, OEMs, contractors, suppliers and operators. The Group does not perform every function internally.

Typical requirements

New operation requiring workforce establishment

A new operation requires a workforce established from the ground up — organisational design, recruitment, mobilisation, training and ongoing management.

Existing operation with workforce performance issues

An existing operation has workforce performance, retention or safety issues. Cassowary Group identifies the causes and restructures the workforce model.

Remote operation requiring mobilisation

A remote or regional operation requires a workforce mobilised and supported in a challenging environment — accommodation, travel, rosters, welfare and site access.

Project requiring specialist workforce

A project requires specialist trades, technical roles or operational personnel mobilised within a defined timeframe.
